Chris Boustred, Winemaker
Chris Boustred attended Stellenbosch University,
earning his degree in viticulture and oenology. Chris
polished his winemaking skills in Pomerol, France,
Stags Leap, Napa Valley, California and Margaret River,
Australia. His wines have been ranked in the top 100
wines of South Africa, the top 10 Merlot’s in individual
vintages, and no matter the varietals, when rated, have
routinely scored 90 points and higher.

“First Light” Chenin Blanc 2019. $13.49 (includes the

First Light and Honeybunch are made from the exact
same vines during the same year using different
methods.
Light gold color. Aromas of fresh peaches and apricots
are livened by tropical notes of oranges and limes. The
palate is full and limey with a creamy acidity and a light
spice, giving a lengthy finish. This wine will gain
complexity for up to 5 years, so drink some now and if
you can, cellar some for later.
“Honeybunch” Chenin Blanc 2019. $22.99 (includes
the 20% discount)
100% Chenin Blanc. Single vineyard. Sustainably
farmed, hand-harvested. Pale, golden yellow colour.
Complex nose with fresh aromas of tropical fruit and
honeysuckle, with undertones of subtle butterscotch and
spicy acacia karoo. Rich and full bodied palate with a
creamy texture and is livened by a fresh acidity.
Lingering, crisp finish. Honeyed aromas and flavours will
develop with aging in the bottle.
“Aspect” Merlot 2016 $19.19 (includes the 20%

The grapes are hand harvested and sorted twice in the
cellar, as bunches and as berries. Fermentation then
occurs spontaneously in 7000 liter French oak, followed
by a post fermentation maceration on the skins of
between 30 and 50 days. Maturation then takes place in
French oak for 24 months. 30% new oak is used with
the remainder made up of second and third fill
barriques.
“Vantage” Pinotage 2018 $19.19 (includes the 20%

Pinotage!!)
The grapes are hand harvested and then sorted in the
cellar. A portion is fermented in open top oak barrels and
a portion in tank. The wine is fermented wild until dry
and then drained off the skins. Maturation takes place in
225 litre French oak barriques for 20 months. 30% new
oak is used with the remainder made up of second and
third fill barriques.
“Sir Thomas Cullinan” Reserve Blend $40.49

Bourreaux blends are fermented wild in 500 litre open
top French oak barrels. Matured for 25 months in 60
Percent new 225 litre French oak barriques. Sweet fruit,
black cherries, plums and fruit cake with savory notes,
olives and black pepper tannin with a medium plus
acidity that leads into a long finish. (Right Bank inspired)
